LRWS is now LRWC

As our organization grows, so does the conservation we do outside the Sanctuary grounds. At this year's annual meeting, the Board of Directors decided to change our name to Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy, or LRWC, to better suit our ongoing mission and activities.

The Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy is dedicated to conserving waterfowl and their habitats through research, conservation action and education.

The Conservancy is one of the largest non-profit waterfowl sanctuaries in the United States. Situated on the private grounds of S. Dillon and Mary Ripley's summer home in Litchfield Connecticut, the Conservancy is home to over 40 species of waterfowl - dabbling and diving ducks, geese and swans - as well as to some exotic wetland species, including Cranes and Flamingos.

The Conservancy is open for tours in the spring and fall where visitors can watch waterfowl displaying, splashing, diving and resting quietly among the numerous ponds and wetland habitats. Tours during other parts of the year can be arranged on request. Off-exhibit areas are reserved for propagation and research.
